In companion to my Life To-Do List, I put together a list of countries that are on my list (more visual aids, this way). Read on! 🙂
(It was really hard not to just pick a picture of the globe. So, prepare for frequent updates!)
I’m ready to Eat Pray Love it all up in Bali.
THE GREAT BARRIER REEF
As a diver, this is clearly a must.
I didn’t make it here when I went except for a brief stint on a tiny island–would love to see Phuket!
Another must-see diving spot! Also…Mayan ruins? Yes please!
I haven’t seen much of the East Coast, and Boston is at the top of my list–beautiful and historical!
There are specific spots I would love to see (Amalfi Coast, Cinque Terre, Venice, Rome…) but really, I want to see it ALL.
Another historic spot in the East I’ve always wanted to see!
Bavaria in general seems like one giant fairy tale.
CASTLE TOUR IN EUROPE
Enough said. I want to sleep in one, too.
The Boyfriend and I almost made it here except for a passport mishap (er, one or both of us may have forgotten ours…) and I am dying to go!
The perfect tropical escape.
My cousin studied abroad here and I was always sad I never got a chance to visit! She loved it.
I almost studied abroad here but they began to have some political issues. Still! The culture! The colors! Both Europe and the Middle East! It’s got it all.
TAJ MAHAL, INDIA
NEW ENGLAND IN THE FALL
I’ve always wanted to drive down the coast, leaf-peeping! Autumn is my favorite and I’ve heard New England is nearly incomparable.
I secretly have always wanted to live in Maine…but I should probably visit before I fully decide…
IGUAZU FALLS, ARGENTINA/BRAZIL
I have a thing for waterfalls.
I must see the Northern Lights here! And the glaciers! The mountains! The wildlife! Maybe I’ve wanted to live here ever since Julie of the Wolves in 5th grade. (Please tell me I’m not the only one who adored these books?)
slightly completely obsessed with Paris. Who’s with me?
A city carved in rocks? Are you kidding me?
I never was very interested in South Africa, but recently it’s become a popular tourist spot on many blogs I follow and I can completely see why. Can’t you??
I need to see an African elephant, a giraffe, some zebras…
I need to ride a camel.
ZION NATIONAL PARK
It’s a crime I’ve lived so close to this and have yet to see it.
Especially the Alhambra!
BANFF NATIONAL PARK
My friends went there on their honeymoon and saw nine grizzly bears in like, two days! Or something. Anyway, it’s supposed to be a majestic mountain paradise.
MESA VERDE NATIONAL PARK
Like Petra, but a wee bit closer to home.
Has always seemed like the epitome of exotic to me!
China seems like an incredible mix of natural beauty, history, rural attitudes and modern mystery.
NAPA VALLEY, CALIFORNIA
Oh I will definitely be sipping some wine in this valley.
BIG SUR, CALIFORNIA
I’ve always wanted to live here, too–can you imagine seeing this every. day??
The top of the Alps! In a little gondola! A.maz.ing.
Again…diving…but hello! Beautiful.
A must-see for every American…plus I’ve heard the cherry blossoms are perfect.
Another American/Canadian sight to see.
I’ve always wanted to cruise here.
The Boyfriend spent time here and I’m so jealous!
The quintessential South.
NEW YORK CITY
Can you believe I’ve never been here?
LONDON, ENGLAND AND THE ENGLISH COUNTRYSIDE
Since I’m obsessed with Jane Austen and Harry Potter and Will & Kate…this is a given.
The last Ancient Wonder of the World! Cleopatra! The Nile! Incredible.
DIVE THE RED SEA
Who knew the diving was so amazing here?
I’ve always dreamed of seeing this coast and this walled city.
A regal Eastern European city.
Even though Hawaii may seem a little touristy, I’ve always wanted to see the volcanoes and jump off the waterfalls.
Harry Potter world! The Keys! St. Augustine!
My friends went on their honeymoon here, and even though I thought they were crazy, their pictures were stunning. (Plus there was an episode of the Bachelorette that traveled here…so embarrassing).
It’s like France. But closer. I could live here, too, I think. Especially if the whole Paris thing doesn’t work out.
Again with the cherry blossoms and amazing fall, I know. And…the history. Also, who wouldn’t want to visit the homeland of sushi?
